You put potatoes in pinto beans? How odd.

It depends on how you did the beans. If you soak them overnight in about double their quantity of water mixed with a little vinegar ( just enough to give the water a vinegary tinge ) the vinegar acid reacts with enzymes in the beans and when they're done they'll be easier on your digestive system. Also, they'll cook quicker. In the morning, discard the vinegary water and rinse them, add fresh water and potatoes and it'll all be done in about 3 or 4 hours.

Why are you adding potatoes to pinto beans? I don't doubt they tast ok together, but I've never heard of a recipe using them together.Anyways, what I would do is first boil your beans in a pot, transfer them to the crock pot,add potatoes that have been cut in 2's,and they should both be done at the same time, maybe 3 to 4 hours.Try adding some chopped onion, tomatoes, garlic and zucchinni and you'll have a delicious meal!

i would put the potatoes in now, they cook at about the same rate as the beans or a little faster. are you having ham with it? cornbread and greens go good with this meal. end with a big cherry pie. then take a nap.
