Christians are fond of saying that it was necessary for God to create a place for evildoers.

But in the US, we incarcerate lawbreakers, but they still get three square meals, sunshine, showers, TV, cigarettes, etc, and when they have paid their due, they are released.

NOT GOD'S HELL!

This is what you get for not believing...

This is what your Bible says about Hell... This is what happens to people who do not wish to believe in a magic superhero who is invisible:

Weeping and gnashing of teeth
Where the fire is never quenched
The torment of their sorrows ascendeth up forever and ever
Fire and brimstone
Outer Darkness
A place of torment

Christian Universalism does not teach the existence of an eternal hell. While the purifying fires of hell may be a for a very long time (aionios), they are to burn away the satanic ego. No good parents punishes their child for eternity for a finite crime and neither does God. Jesus' sacrifice is meant to save us from death and is for all. How can you show mercy if there is no judgement?
Without hate there can be no such thing as love. Else, how would you be able to tell the difference?

Hell was made for satan and all of the angels that followed him. Man is the one who is sending himself there.

Hell isn't a place for evil-doers. It's merely a place for those who refuse to be in God's presence. It isn't a literal lake of fire, but merely a place devoid of God's love. As such, after being in God's presence, you will be literally thirsty for his love again. You will be burning to have the relationship with him that you despised for so long. That's what they mean by weeping and gnashing teeth, and a fire that is never quenched.

Of course, I could be wrong. There could really be demons there that will beat and tear at you for all eternity. Either way, I'm going to Heaven, so...sucks to be a non-believer.

propose what you want.
you want God to make a nicer hell? with air conditioning and plumbing? you want some cigarettes?
hell is bad not because of those things, but rather because it is the separation away from God. you reject God, you go to hell. hell is eternity away from God. it was not God's choice that you go to hell, but yours.
