I went to mass with my wife, and they were in there doing aerobics, up, cross, kneel, pray, up, cross , kneel, pray, and I was just wondering, should I start at Gold's Gym first to get into shape?

imacatholic, i have often , well , not so often, but nonetheless, twice wondered, if you are a real person or just an arm of the church. like a conglomeration of folks sitting around somewhere, with canned answers on data file. if you are just one real person, say 'i can play dominoes better than you can' and have a happy new year with all us "real" people LOL

There are some exercises, if you will, that the magesterium uses to keep it's congregation in subdued physical condition. One of them is getting up and down and kneeling. Kneeling is actually good for you if you can do it. It provides a good stretch in some prime muscle areas of the body. Mild spanking also helps to stimulate antibiotic effect in the buttocks. Meditation is good while you exercise.

If I were to have a service, it would include some rolling on the floor, some tumbling or inversion as you would drink some water before and after that exercise in the service. There would be mild dancing and stretching, and a few paired pushups and situps. This would produce some farts and burps that would clear the digestive track and get it moving again for a new day. Also there would be pilates and mild dancing and a few jump up and downs or simulated for older people. All of this would be to keep you healthy.

Fruit and smoothies would be served along with vegetables and raw vegetable juice....freshly made with you name it including some of the cleaned skins from those and various nuts. Each parishoner would leave a list of what they are allergic too, so that could be traced. Only a small amount of meat would be served, mostly liver and smelt.

In the wintertime, slight salt water saline warm rinses would be done to your nose and a breathing tent with steam fed bacon soda and salt water mists would be erected....this to break up congestion that a parishoner might have contacted. Honey mixed in tea would be served.

But this is not Catholic. I am a recovering cathaholic.

Healing be unto you and yours and me and mine
In Forgive Affirmed Spirit

Yes, you should. It's a very sound plan. I would also advise eating plenty of soy and alfalfa sprouts. You will wind up being one lean, fighting machine... I mean praying machine.

Why go to Gold's Gym when it seems you already are part of God's Gym?

I've been to mass twice. It was certainly a workout. They really need to let you wear sweats.

Thanks for the chuckle. Being terribly out of shape myself, I have never found mass to be too rigorous so it shouldn't be necessary.

A few weeks of that and you'll be in shape anyways, so why worry about it.

But Gold's Gym would be a great way to start out the new year anyway, I think...... yeah! thanks for the great idea!

A Happy New Year To You! I sure hope it is happy for us all, for once.

If you are going to be a priest you might familiarize yourself with children's vitamins.
