have never been to one, but I know enough to not answer any questions with details, not to volunteer any information, to hold my bag tightly so she cant rummage through it, and to control my body language as much as possible.

I learnt all that from Dorothy when she met the Wizard right before the storm that took her to the land of Oz.

Yes. I went along with a friend once just for fun, and the so-called psychic basically asked me a bunch of general questions and gave me a bunch of general answers that apply to anyone. She did not predict anything--I gave her the answers. I wasn't expecting much anyway, but my friend, who was going through a low point at the time, went back a second time, during which the psychic tried to extort her for $1400.

Not I but I'm sure some have. You don't pull a guy you don't know about off the street and let him fine tune your car either, do you? You get what you pay for after all.

If they have a well established business, they probably are reliable. Buy a reading off of eBay, checking the feedback on the one you are buying from.

The talent is just like that of a musician, artist, and such - there's some average ones, some crappy ones, and some that soar.

If you have you shouldn't been talking to that one see God's opinion (Deuteronomy 18:10-13) 10 There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, 11 or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. 12 For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you. 13 You should prove yourself faultless with Jehovah your God.
