Not in the near future. The PS3 is jam packed as it is. In order to make a slimline model they would need to give you a 'power brick' rather than putting the transformer inside the system. They would also need to develop a slimline blu-ray drive ( they done it with DVD drives so I guess its possible ).

It will take ages for them to redesign the PS3 to make it slimmer, all the hardware they've put into it, i dnt think they will be able to make it slimmer, BUT if u were to open up a PS3 most of it is just casing. I wouldnt expect a slim PS3 soon, but i would expect it will cost alot :(

If they do they better learn from M$ and not have it be too tight inside, and give it a proper cooling system and not have it **** up on its customers. But if they do I think that they will in like 4-5 years cuz no one will spend another 500 bucks to get the same console again. And if they do do it (in 4-5 years) then It will probably have other features as well, ..something with the PS Eye and wii like controls without a remote (just your hands) seems to be on the horizon..
