In the past few days my boy friend and I have told a friend that we would watch their cat while there out of the country. And their cat is a female cat. And our cat is male who at the end of November got fixed, and he was 1 year a 1 month old at that time. now he is 1 year and 2 months old. My foster cat is about a year and she was fixed around 7 months. Now my question is, my cat wont stop like running after her in a playful way as if trying to get it on with her. Is it possible that since he got fixed at 1 year old that he still know the feeling if being horny? If so, is there anything I should worry about? Or should I just let it run it's course?

But the female is like swiping at him to keep him away, is that something I should worry about?

They are just getting to know each other. For one, you brought a new cat into your cats domain. The male is trying to teach the female the "pecking order". Like "I'm the boss" and if they have sex, so what. They are both fixed. So it isn't like they are going to have kittens. Once they get used to being around each other they will be very cute together. Just sit back and enjoy the show!

Good luck

It is somewhat instinctive and there isn't much you can do about it, except separate them. You have to watch for injuries with clawing. You could end up having to make an emergency trip to the vets, and many times, a cut to another cat will end up causing an infection which needs to be treated. I would keep them separated whenever you are not supervising.

The male cat still has the instinctive urges to mate. It's pretty normal and should be nothing to fret over. As long as both cats are fixed there should be no problems. Cats can't help themselves sometimes. Even my cats do it.....and they're all male.

Completely normal behaviour. My male cat has been fixed since he was 6 months old, my female since she was 4 months old. It hasn't stopped him from trying to hump her about once a week! he's now 7 years old! Even after they are fixed they still get horny, they just can't "get it up" anymore!

My fixed cat does the same thing, it is harmless. Allow him to pretend like he's actually gonna get some!
