To answer your question...no, you cannot be "immune" to tequila. The effects are due to alcohol, not the type of drink you select. You can build up a tolerance to alcohol which will cause you to be able to drink more before you feel any effects. Also, the amount of food you have eaten, pace at which you drink, and various other factors can change how alcohol affects your body. But the bottom line is nobody is immune to the effects of alcohol and the type of drink does not change the effect the alcohol will have.

I beg to differ about the immunity! I can drink one glass of vodka (even one shot) or any other liquor but with Tequila I drink and drink and the most I get is tired. I just drank half a bottle of 1800 agave and feel nothing. Better yet, I wake up feeling refreshed....like I never drank at all.
The really weird part, I am allergic to gluten. I got so sick for so many years trying to go out and keep up with my friends. They would have 5-9 drinks and get "wasted" wake up hungover and then do it all over again.
I would drink 2 drinks and get wasted then be sick for three days. One time, I was at an office party (xmas) where the bar tender they hired thought it would be funny to give the 21 year old 3 shots with every 7up and vodka drink. I ended up in the hospital after two days.
I wish someone knew what this meant? I know grains are really bad for us....so maybe fermented grains are awful... agave tequila seems to do nothing and I think its weird.
When I bought this bottle of tequila the other night I thought, why don't I ever try this, I love the taste...then I got tired after only three drinks with no buzz at all. So I tested that out again. this time i drank way more and barely tired now. ugh...
oh well, guess it can only be a good thing. But you are not the only one!
PS i haven't eaten anything all day. I thought it would give a different effect. Nope....

Ethanol is ethanol, whatever the flavor. Some liquors do have a higher % of alcohol but most tequila is your standard 80 proof. However, if you drank a whole glass it should have had an effect-are you positive it was tequila in there?

you're not immune.....there's no such thing. you just have a high tolerance.......if you're telling the truth.......which is suspect. the amount of food in your system could have something to do with it. had you just eaten? a full stomach can slow down the effect of alcohol.

no, it's impossible. perhaps you sipped it slower than other drinks? alcohol content is alcohol content, no way to be immune to it's effects... your body can build tolerances differently though, ie if you drink tequila for 2 weeks and then have a 'vodka night', you're more likely to feel the vodka, seems odd but I know it to be fact as my regular drink is bourbon and my body can handle that in heavy doses, swicthing to other things seems to get me more drunk though. it's a case by case thing, no telling how others bodies will handle things... but no, there is no way you're immune to tequila

maybe that's not tequila, maybe that's just a bottle of water, with a dirty worm inside
