Honestly, why do you care? Isn't that what Atheism is all about?

Oh, and don't say you're not. Just look at the R&S section, it's written all over.

Many are reacting to a strict religious upbringing that left them angry and hurt. They need your love and understanding, not your anger.

Because its brainwashing, and child abuse (brainwashing children from a very early age) and hypocrisy, and delusional. Even if we say not interested, they keep coming back.

the JWs abuse their children by allowing them to die if they require a blood transfusion. The (fundamentalist) mormons abuse their children by marrying them off as teenagers.

I have known a lot of other christian families who whip, strap and beat their kids if they dont behave, if they speak out of turn, if they say or do the wrong thing. The family claim its discipline, but often it is abuse above and beyond the nature of the bad behaviour. Been through this myself.

God NEVER answers prayers. Has ANYONE ever seen an amputee with a regrown limb? Has anyone who is paralysed ever been completely healed and able to get out of the wheelchair?

How many times do amputees or paraplegics pray and get told to have more faith, pray some more, and God will answer. When nothing happens, they get told - oh well, maybe god is saying "not yet" - how nice and convenient. I have never seen any amputee with a regrown limb. I have never seen any paraplegic being healed. Not one.

Not even Joni Eareckson. She's been in a wheelchair since 1967 (for 40 years now). I'll bet she's prayed real hard to be healed. Nothing yet.

Oh, now I know what R&S stands for. I always see people saying R&S section.

I don't know what religion I am. I'm just kind of confused now, and I don't really care. I'm not all for religion or against. Honestly, I feel like I couldn't care less. And I can't help that. I can't force myself to believe anything.

*I wasn't raised with values.

If you could cure people of a mental illness would you not try?

That is why I openly speak out about religion.

Oh and don't say it's not a mental illness, just look at R&S it's written all over.

I am not anti-religious. Practise whichever religion you wish.

The only objection, or fear if you like, is that the most powerful country in the world has its leader who gets advice from the 'born again' 'apocalypse now' fundamentalists whose aim is to bring on the apocalypse. ... and this is the man with the finger on the button.

Probably as dangerous as a former president whose wife consulted astrologers before allowing him to make a decision.

To be a believer in no God is a religion as much as any other. They just get annoyed when people refuse to accept that their form of belief can exist.

religion had the practice of keeping people in their place - the rulers were meant to rule, and the poor were meant to be poor (and later rewarded for their crap life in heaven). in order for them not to interpret the bible for themselves with different conclusions, they were kept stupid and the scriptures written in latin. to sum it up, religion was abused as an instrument of power, which reached its climax during the witch hunts and inquisition.
so some people simply prefer to be in charge of their own lives.
