I got a friend of a friend that uses to beat his GF on a usuall basis. Usually for no reason or if the food isn't warn enough when he arrives home. Should i report this to someone?

you can acll the police it he is doing it at the moment. but usually the girls needs to be the one to report it.

Most people's gut reaction is : YES, what are you waiting for, Dummy?
The Sad truth is that some women have such low self-esteem, and are so screwed up, that they actually love these thugs who beat them, or pimp them, or almost kill them on a regular basis. In fact they usually feel that they deserve it, that they caused it, or did something to warrant the beating, and if you get involved in this - like confronting him in front of her - you are likely to get beat up by both of them!
Most of these women are NOT going to press charges on their man - and the guys KNOW this. Even if he slits her throat and she survives, she will likely go right back to him - if he will have her back.
I mean LOOK at what you are saying - "Beat his GF on a usual basis". This is something that has been going on for a long time - she's had MANY OPPORTUNITIES to call the cops on him, to get away from him, to run away from him, to disappear into the wind, and yet there she is, waiting to get smacked around again.
YOU TELL ME, if she won't help her self, if she doesnt want to change things, why should you - other than you sound like you've had a good christian up bringing, you know right from wrong, you have your sensibilities, and you are abhorred by all this , but you are afraid to get involved - why? You know this is wrong - tell me why! Or is it because you understand what I was saying above - and how futile this all is - and how potentially dangerous it is for you to get involved.
This is one of those moral conundrums - it's wrong but you can't make it right, even if you could get him locked up, I'd watch your back, because the odds are VERY GOOD, that she'll be coming after you for putting her man in jail.
By the way I AM NOT trying to be sexist here or streo type women - the same applies to sme men in reversed roles.

Yess.. you need to report it right know..That's cruel..Imagine if it was happening to one of your family members,would you just sit there and do nothing or would you go to the police..

There's no point in getting in the middle of that. You'll have your own battles soon enough. And besides, you'll run into that again, and you can't get into the habit of interjecting yourself in other people's mess. But l ike one poster said, if it occurs in front of you, you can call the cops or stand up for her and take him on.

why doesnt she leave? is she too scared too?
if you report this then they might not take it seriously, but if SHE reports it and she has bruises and stuff they will take it seriously.
you and your friend should encourage her to report this to the police.
