I mean, if you're right you don't gain anything, but if you're wrong you'll spend several hundred years in Hel. Hel is definitely a place you don't want to go. Hel is a pretty depressing place filled with the evil and the non-warriors.
You'll be surrounded by Jotnar, and when the Ragnarok starts you won't be able to avoid your terrible fate. The Aesir will tear you apart. Do you really expect Loki to protect you during the Ragnarok?
Wouldn't it be better if you just played it safe and believed? That way you could go to Val-hall and be on the side of the Aesir.
