Come on! Divide 2/3 by 1/4 which gives you 2/3 times 4/1 and that results in 8/3 or 2and 2/3 quarter cups.

ok the LCD of 4 and 3 is 12. so you mutply the numorator by 12 and then divide by the demonatior. doing that we gat 3/12 + 8/12. then we add the numorators. getting 11/12 then we reduce. 11 being prime it won't reduce.

What's the problem? Don't you have a 1/3 cup you can use twice? !/4 cup isn't going to work exactly as 2/4 is less than 2/3, and 3/4 is too much. What are you measuring? Maybe you can weigh it or use spoon to measure instead.
