I mean... really and truly, what did He do in the Bible that's really awful, other than make Job's life a misery (on God's authority), point the finger at some priest or other, and give Jesus a few hints on turning rocks into tasty treats. I mean, He didn't slaughter any firstborn did He (Herod), or slaughter an entire city or men, women and children (that was Joshua), or wipe out an entire family because one of them stopped the ark of the Covenant from slipping off a cart (That was God)

I mean, he didn't even wither a fig tree (that was Jesus), or wipe out a couple of cities full of fun loving homosexuals (God again).

Or curse people for witholding their tithes (St Peter), or destroy an entire planet's ecosystem with floodwater (God, yet again)

Personally speaking, He sounds a lot more like the kind of Spiritual deity I'd like to meet, since He doesn't do very much cursing, threatening , or having fits of wrath, and nowhere in the Bible does He actually KILL anybody, does He

Honest answer from a person who studied Primary and Secondary school in a monks private school like myself. According to the bible, Lucifer(Satan) was god's nearest creation to himself, he wanted to create the perfect angel to his own looks and style, but then Satan turned against him, basically because if you put yourself into God's shoes, if you make a clone(because this is what god indented to create) you cannot expect somebody who is made to be perfect, look like you and think like you to take orders from this person, I mean, would you, if you discover that you are a clone? You would say that you are as smart or even smarter than your creator because you had your own path of experiences and whether you are right or wrong, you want to think this.

I am an Atheist, I am not Catholic, nor follow any religion, because EVERY single book and religion (bible, Torah, Koran, etc) has been written by humans, in which god's words we are imperfect, so what we as humans wrote in the bible is imperfect and inaccurate, Peter started writing Jesus teachings many years after Jesus was crucified, so, will you remember exactly what happened 20 years ago? if you say something to one person and pass it over 100 more, will the last person get the same message as the first? NO.

Satan is neither bad or good, I guess we will never know because these are just human writings by people who worship God, so if you love your wife or friend, you will defend this love and if someone interferes with it and do something against their principals whether is good or bad, you will stand at you friend side, the same happened with the Bible and Satan, the story has been written from one side only.

Of course I wouldn’t play with fire and worship Satan either, if God really exist, the best possible way to go to heaven in my opinion is not to listen to these child molester priests and politic churches and just be a good person, make good, help others in need and be yourself. Thanks

Satan is behind every evil act and ill deed. The proud and honourable Almighty would presumably be loathe to admit this, and when mankind denounces God for the acts of Satan, maybe he would feel that Satan and his adorers deserve one another, and has moved residence to another place where the populace are godward and faithful and a slightly friendlier.....

Choose Wisely....

All satan needs to do is separate mankind from God. This was accomplished by getting Adam and Eve to abandon faith in God, which they did.

Your arguments are colored by perspective, and are invalid as a means of proof for anything.

He is the lowest slimiest creature ever. He had the arrogance to think he was on a par with God - he wanted to be worshipped - as if! He is the father of all lies and deception, he is under hand and sly, how dare he think that he could ever be anywhere near as wonderful as God!!!

Satan is courageous, imaginative, forward-looking, science-curious, anti-totalitarian, open-minded.

Naturally the church wants us all to hate him -- to think of him as the bad guy.

let me tell you a story about how Satan become evil...

before Adam and eve were created, Satan is an arch-angel and he get the highest level of angel and everyone respect him...

by the time God tell all angels that He want to make Adam as the leader of earth, every angels ask god, "why you want to make human that will make earth a disaster place?" and God said, " its all in my knowledge"...

so then, when adam was given a blow of soul...he wakes up and god teach him all knowledge that even angels don't know it...

after that, god said to all angels to give a bow of honour to Adam,..all angels did that except Satan...

he said, " why should I bow down to him, since I was made from fire and he just from the dirt?"

because of that, he was cast by god and turn off his beautiful face into ugly,...but then Satan ask few favor to God before he get cast to earth,...

he ask to life forever until the judgement day come and he ask to astray the path of god from adam's descendants..

and god fulfill his wish, but God said " you can astray adam's children, but you will never get those who always fear to Me and believe in Me".....

edit: this is verse from the Quran

“And (remember) when We said to the angels: “Prostrate yourselves unto Adam.” So they prostrated themselves except Iblees (Satan). He was one of the jinn; he disobeyed the Command of his Lord. Will you then take him (Iblees) and his offspring as protectors and helpers rather than Me while they are enemies to you? What an evil is the exchange for the Zaalimoon (polytheists, and wrongdoers, etc).” [al-Kahf 18:50]

According to Sylvia Brown, Lucifer should not be hated. That "he" is an angel of god to look over the evil spirits, to make sure they don't get too carried away.

I strayed from religion because of the contradictions.

he wanted to be like God and be worshiped. God will not take second place ever! God is Holy and He must judge sin. satan is a deceiver who appears to be an angle of light but he is not. if you don't know who Jesus is you already know satan as your father too.
