i like this! put this in the philosophy section too! the truth is the truth. it is definite. it exists outside the realm of our perception, yet, is not completely excluded from it. the truth is unbiased, plain and simple. it is independent of what we perceive it to be, and it does not change. considering all this, i guess you could say that truth is indeed like Mathematics. Our PERCEPTION of the truth, on the other hand, is like poetry...with infinite expressions.

Truth is a motive more than an achievement. Its not about veracity so much as it is simply the willingness to share information unadorned with ulterior motives. You can decieve with the 'truth' and you can tell an 'honest' lie. (ie - you can make mistakes and still be honest).

Mathematics is art as well as science and like poetry, Mathematics too has infinite expressions (and expressions on infinity for that matter) but if forced to choose I would say that the 'truth' is more like poetry.

Reminds me of a saying: Only the poet can see beyond the detail and see the whole picture. (perhaps only the poet can see beyond the detail and see the Truth)

The Truth is like poetry. It means something different to each individual. Dificult to wrap your mind around, I know, but I believe that each person will attain that which he believes he will attain. That the ultimate Truth is a 'form' of truth, that the perfect form exists only in Perfection. Not a physical place, but an ideal of the Universe.
Not an easy thing to make sense of in this forum.

Truth is like nothing else. Truth is.
At times it is poetry at times it is mathematical.

Look at the luminaries that God gave us to light the night.

They are poetry, yet they are mathematical.

Can people deny the beauty and poetry of truth, surely they can.
Can they deny the mathematical precision that operates in the world around us, absolutely.

Does it change anything? Not really.

Mathematics and poetry are both concepts of the mind. The truth is beyond mind. If you try to grasp it, you already lost it. It's more like "no thought". It seems empty but it's filled to the brim.

Mathematics has infinite expressions. Only the soulless think that mathematics is rigid and stultifying.
