I keep Karma tablets on hand for when I need them, and they work great for me, but the best way I have found to deal with panic attacks is deep breathing. Maybe read up on cognitive behaviour therapy. Once you recognise what is triggering the attack and how your body is reacting to it, it is easier to manage. Sometimes our body works in strange ways but there is always a reason.
Good luck

yes, that is true. It is Called pericardium 6, it releases nervous tension. There are several supplements that are quite helpful. 5 HTP, 50-100 mg 2-3 times a day. Calcium and magnesium in a ratio if 2 to 1, B- complex. GABA, 500 mg 2-3 times daily between meals. Valerian root, St John's wort, Ashwagandha, Chromium and Inositol are also very helpful too.

Yes they can - so can breathing long and slow - also hypnotherapy, NLP, TFT and EFT.
Relaxation and meditation therapies also work well but take time.

Have you seen the techniques for control of panic attacks, in section 8, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris yet? Begin by holding your breath for 5, or 10 seconds: this will give you the confidence to realise that YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR BREATHING, but not pass out, or die (your autonomic nervous system resumes breathing, if unconscious). Understand panic attacks, and what triggers them, in your life (if it is unresolved anxiety, see section 6). The paper bag method works for most people: have you tried it? If you are fairly suggestible, the following are reliable, and reasonably priced:

Your last alternative is psychotherapy, to address its fundamental cause: read section 1, and examine the 1-800-therapist website, and use the locators, and phone book. I used to suffer from panic attacks, until I questioned what had changed recently in my life, to trigger them? I suggest that you learn, then practise the controlled breathing technique, until competent, then employ it, at the very first sign of a panic attack.

I never heard that & I used to suffer from panic attacks years ago. I didn't know how to deal with my panic attacks, so I went to a psychologist that helped me to understand what was triggering them & what to do when I got them. While in therapy, I did some things to better myself, (got dental work done, lost a lot of weight, etc.) which worked wonders when it came to building up my self confidence & self esteem. In time, I began feeling really good about myself, I learned to like myself, & in time, the PA/AT came less & less.
