She's 45, and she has a fever of 102.0 degrees. It began at 99.9 this morning, and so my mom took some alieve, and it went back to normal. now its 102.0 and im worried because she doesnt want to go see a doctor. Is there something i can do?

Symptoms: fever, she says she feels cold, stuffy runny nose, no vomiting, backpain still? im not sure, but i think so and i think thats it.

The night before she was okay. She started to have backpain and felt sick at 4 am, but didnt get a fever till around 11 am.

Is there something i can do?

It sounds like it's probably the flu. Taking the alieve and following the directions on the back should help her with the fever. At 102 it's not anything to worry about yet. Sometimes a baggie of ice on the forehead helps. If her fever gets above about 103, especially if it's 104 or higher, then she really needs to see a doctor, but for now I'd say just watch the fever and make sure it doesn't get too high. I'd say drink plenty of fluids, and if it doesn't clear up in a day or two, then see about going to a doctor.

sounds like flu, if u have a fever u can feel sick. just make sure she is taking painkillers as per the instructions every 4-6 hrs and is drinking at least water. if she is hot she may like a cold flannel on her head, if shes cold maybe a hot water bottle, just be there to do things for her . if ur worried then please call doc but from what u have described sounds like flu and she will hopefully be better tomorrow.

Its time to wait on your Mom.Keep her in the bed and sleeping. Some Aleve or aspirin for the fever and some good homemade chicken veggie soup.

Sounds like she has the old time flu. fever, aches and pain and it will go into her chest for some congestion. So go to the drug store and stock up on decongestants and nasal sprays and aspirin.

If the fever get higher than 104 be sure she goes to the doctor even if she doesn't want to. She can fry her brain with long term high fever. Keeps some cool water and wash clothes near her.

She needs rest and nutrition. Do the soup! room dark and some quiet please.

Aleve is for pain, if she is not having pain why give Aleve. She has a fever, get a fever reducer, acetaminophen (tylenol) works, so does ibuprofen for fevers. Plenty of rest, fluids and let it run its course. Fluids can include broth, popsicles, juice, water, soda (caffeine free), jello, koolaid, etc. If her fever continues to go up, and she starts with diarrhea and gets really weak , try to get her to the ER.

I agree with Tara. Have her drink liquids--even water--so she does not dehydrate. Give her the alieve according to directions on the bottle. Sounds like a flu bug. Good luck sweety--and thank you for taking good care of Mommy.

Sounds like the flu...muscle aches. Make her some chicken soup. Keep her warm, feed her lots of liquids (water, orange juice, etc) and aspirin to keep the fever down. LOTS OF REST. YOU...BE QUIET.
That's what I do when I start feeling gooky.
