I have a 6 month old Rottweiler puppy. He listens to me but he takes his time on performing the command when my Uncle tells him to do something. So times he will do a howl when my Uncle tells him to do the command. But when ever he sees my Uncle he jumps up and down and is happy. But when I tell him to do something, I have to say it twice before he actually does it. Or when I just look at him he would just look at me sit down and pee. I don't know why. When I come home he just lays on the floor sometime not doing anything when he sees me. I never hit him. When he torn up the kitchen I yelled at him and pointed at him. But I was wondering who does he consider his master. My Uncle or me.

rottweilers are playful puppies until about 2and half-3 years in this time they seem like there not really picking up on what u are trying to train them to do it takes time, then when they get to 2and half-3 years everything you were teaching them they will do instantly.time is the key word while they are young they are puppies dont foget that ,take your dog every where you if you can, like hes your new best mate because in time he will then become your best friend and all will fall into place. dogs pic up on tones in your voice try to have only two tones one for comands and telling him hes done good calling him playing with him and the other more deeper tone best described as a deep throat growl eg he done somthing wrong and is in trouble. no point yelling and screaming at him as dogs ears are sensitive and it hurts them and he wont know what tone you are using. remember the more time you spend with him the sooner the best friend bond starts. i rekon he seems happy everytime he sees your uncle is your uncle hasnt yelled at him and he plays with him when they see each other. dont get frustrated while trying to train him he is only a PUPPY he will pick it all up.he is going to be your best friend theres no master and servant deal.

Your puppy already knows that you are the Top Dog :-) He's doing what you say, albeit a bit reluctantly, which will require more training. Since YOU are the boss, by the process of elimination, your uncle is NOT. He therefore qualifies as another playmate, and your dog is just inviting him to play when he's jumping up and down. You can be both... but your dog has to know WHEN, and that's not necessarily easy.

Wow .... lots of answers before me, but none of them that I'd agree with. (that's just my opinion...)

I'd say right now, no one is the "master" ... he certainly isn't thinking he's higher than you, but he's backtalking your uncle and making you repeat the command before he'll do it.

Feeding your dog will not automatically make you the "master".

If you want to be the "master" then you need to take him to obedience classes. You need to train him that he MUST listen to you always, not just when he feels like it, and that he cannot ignore you or pretend like he doesn't hear you the first time.

The one that the dog respects will ultimately be the one that he wants to be with and looks up to.

He considers your uncle a friend and you are his pack leader. He wants to please you, but is also frientened of you. There is a way to get around that. When you come home let him know you are happy to see him and praise him when he does something good.
Praise works better than yelling or getting after him. As the old saying goes "sugar draws flies better than salt" you will find praise works good because he will want to please you more.
He wants you to be happy with him, show love and respect and it will be shown to you.

watch the dog whisper show. you need to let your dog know you are the pack leader the alpha male the boss. he peed perhaps because he is afraid of you or he did this in spite of you. take charge of your dog. take time with him. teach him. research training your dog. I have trained my kitty to sign language. you can do the same.

you have a forgiving heart. A puppy knows his master the same way a human knows a stranger from his or her best friend. Your puppy maybe fells intimidated by your uncle. since your his master and your probably forgiving he feels that he'll get away with not following the cammand you give him.
