What is your perspective on a proposal to split the R & S section into a series of sub-sections? For example, there could be a subsection for all the world's major religions" one for Christianity, another for Islam, Hinduism etc., as well as a section for general spiritualists. There could also be an "other" section for participants whose main religion/spiritual belief is not indicated by a definite subsection. This new system could have the advantage of (1) Providing a more direct and specific array of questions and answers available to participants - for example, if you want to ask a question and you specifically want answers from Christians, you go to the Christian section. (2) Reducing congestion (particularly with teh flooding of questions) associated with teh present system. Some disadvantages: (1) Some sections may be overactive, while others remain quite inactive. (2) Many people might just miss the old fast pace, congested, open and fun system. So what is your perspective?

The trouble makers will still invade... that is all they live for... that has been tried in may different ways on many many online sites... the hate mongers still show up and ruin it for the rest.... and it will degrade rapidly into a mess just like YA is now.

Sounds a jolly good idea. How on earth can this work otherwise. One for 'born again' Christians (this not to be included with sects like the JW's, Mormons etc, One for Islam, One for Hinduism etc.
I have had so much hate mail from the Muslims for my straight honest answers. They cannot take any honest criticism.

Go for it!!!!!

What would be the point? You might as well subdivide the politics section into republicans and democrats. YA is at it's best when people with different perspectives can communicate and share ideas. It can be heated and confrontational but doesn't have to be nasty. Talking only to people who share your views would get boring after a while.

I have learned a great deal here from my brothers and sisters. I would hate to see it change.

I think what they need to change is the reporting situation. People are being reported for really silly things. They need a way to stop people from setting up multiple accounts and stalking people who they don't agree with. Maybe only accounts over a year old or level 7 accounts should be the only ones allowed to report. This would stop people from using the multiple accounts to attack people with opposing views.

Love and blessings Don

I think it is a great idea to subdivide. The holidays are subdivided. Christianity needs its own section to contain its adherents.

Yahoo has already stated that they will not change the categories. Personally, I am against it anyway. Religion is divisive enough. This forum does not need to reflect that divisiveness by splitting its theists into separate sections, splitting off the non-theists...nobody would stay in "their" sections and the report monkeys would go berzerk.

Besides, people deconvert here. I did, and I have seen others do it. I don't see that as anything but a good thing.

It could be good, but be sure to provide a separate section for atheist to sit around and mock all beliefs. That way they can stay off the other sections.
