I wouldn't waste my time trying to work with a 3.8L it's just not worth the time and money you would have to spend.I would go
for an engine swap, but swap in something that already came in those cars from the factory to begin with. That way all the parts you will need will be ease to find new or used. And the best and fastest engine swap for those cars will be the 5.0.And even that will not be a fun, quick or easy job.Considering all the parts that have to be changed it will be faster, cheaper and much less aggravating to just sell the car you've got and buy one with a V8 already in it from the factory. If you don't when your knuckels are bleeding and nothing fits or works right the great "idea" of an engine swap will become your worst nightmare.I've been there and done that, don't learn the hard way, sell it and buy a V8 car.Engine swaps are a great idea in the much older cars from the 50's,60's,70's.But with these new cars it a whole different game, the wiring alone will drive you crazy.Unless you've got alot of time, money, equipment, experience and experienced help I wouldn't do it!!!!

nicely this is too late, the wear is finished it ran with out oil and it seized. It would not would desire to be hydrolocked to be seized. the only element you're able to do now's attempt to tutor it from the crank. get rid of each and every of the spark plugs to make advantageous there is no compression to make it much less complicated, additionally if there is any water interior the engine this is going to pop out that way, with each and every of the spark plugs out try to crank it, in the experience that your fortunate this is going to turn over, if not you will would desire to get a ratchet on the crankshaft pulley bolt and rotate the engine that way, If it would not desire to rotate in any respect, nicely you have have been given a seized engine. not something you're able to do approximately it, you will desire a sparkling engine. in the experience that your fortunate you would be waiting to get it unseized however the wear is finished, you may force it like that till it thoroughly fails. you additionally can try to pour some oil down the spark plug holes to attempt and help it alongside, not plenty, the equivalent of three spoons.

well, since the 4.6 was an option youll have enough room to put about anything in there if youre willing to do the work. you could even throw a 460 in there if you wanted to.

Well you could put a 4.6L SOHC V8 or the supercharged V6 that came in the Thunderbird SC I think its a 3.8 also just has the supercharge. kind of like a Buick Grand National I guess. Im a GM guy.

All of those year Birds had 3.8 as a v6. If you want more power, you should find a Super Coupe (3.8 supercharged). I imagine some aftermarket company sells a conversion kit to add a supercharger onto a regular 3.8, but those engines have head gasket issues and some lower end/low oil pressure issues. I wouldn't add too many horses to that engine.
