I'm consider myself a Christian. I've studied a lot about religion. I am interested in possibly joining the Catholic church. I've gone to mass a few times and find it confusing. I feel the Catholic church is the original church that Christ setup. Where can people who are looking into the Catholic religion go to learn more and understand it's practices?

Sue: I'm not trying to be rude but Jesus did setup a Christian church.
"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive" Ephesians 4:11-14

A T O M I C Jw slayer: I hope you don't take this the wrong way, you have the right to your belief. But I have read the bible, prayed, and I believe that God is guiding me to the Catholic church. It is not an emotional or a fad. You seem to have gone to a lot of work to bring down someones belief.

Steve H: That makes no sense... I'm a middle aged adult and my parents have absolutely nothing to do with this choice. By the way my parents were Atheists.

would I propose you forget approximately approximately e book and so on. for now and merely circulate to a minimum of one or 2 Roman Catholic church homes that are open close to you.circulate on my own in the midst of the day,say some Saturday, and merely take a seat there for say 0.5 an hour and watch and hear. in case you experience like it merely kneel down and "hear" on your concepts.Later you may desire to choose to communicate to somebody, yet save it user-friendly till you experience delicate with your self. Small beginnings.in case you experience you're delicate and extra confidant then you may enquire added, the opportunities will upward thrust up if after some time you're no longer happy then no injury could have been executed yet believe me you may have benefitted in some way. God Bless.

God bless you and welcome home! I'm a convert too!

Yes, God is calling you home. By answering His call, you've made His heart smile.

Speak to a priest about RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). These are the classes that will teach you the Catholic faith. I went through them 3 years ago; best decision of my life.

You should also check out these websites: www.catholic.com and www.scripturecatholic.com. They're more apologetics-based, but they can be helpful in answering questions and learning about what Catholics believe.

Also, you can email me anytime. I'd be glad to help.

God bless.

Talk to a Priest and Contact the Parish where you have been attending mass and ask to speak to their educational director.

The suggestions to talk to a priest and/or become involved with RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) are good ones. But in the meantime, I suggest taking a look at this website:

http://www.catholicculture.org/

This is a particularly good site, but there are others which will help you learn more about the Catholic Faith. Another option is to visit your nearest Catholic bookstore and ask for some good basic reference works on Catholicism. They can usually suggest books and materials that will help you get started in exploring the faith.

God bless you as you study and learn more about the Church!
