Also, are there....I don't know how to describe it... For example; the opposite of sins... things that Christians believe you SHOULD do frequently?

As Donald says sin is sin there are no good and bad sin God does not weigh sin all sin is to fall short of the glory of a perfect righteous God.

God foreknew that man would sin and had a plan of salvation for his creation before he created us.

It was never God's plan to join man in his sin but to bring man
to his righteousness that is through Jesus Christ.

Man does not earn his salvation with good deed but by faith is made new and in agreement with God's righteousnes changed by God.
If a man does good it is because he is made new by God.

Sin is not an act. It is not a set of ranked transgressions or violations. Sin is not a really bad one and a little one and a medium-sized one. Sin is an attitude of the heart. It is an attitude that says, "God, I'm not going to obey you." The first act of obedience is coming to the heartfelt realization that we're all sinners because of our nature through the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Which brings me to the next part of my answer. All manner of sin shall be forgiven upon repentance. However, there is one sin that is unforgivable: blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us that no man cometh to the Father but that the Spirit draweth him. If you reject the Holy Spirit drawing you to Christ, there is no other means to come to God for redemption. It is only by the convicting power of the Holy Spirit that brings us to the foot of the Cross of Christ for salvation. Actually, there are two different categories of sin. There are sins of commission (doing what you're not supposed to do out of disobedience) and sins of omission ( not doing what God instructs you to do). Simply put, the opposite of sin is obedience to God. How do you know what God wants you to do? Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins. Start to grow in Christ through daily prayer and reading of Scripture. Attend a local Bible-preaching, Spirit-filled church and just grow in grace.

No. If your beliefs feel right and give you comfort does it really matter what the official name of your Church is? I'm a "holiday" Catholic. Husband's a weekly Lutheran. When it was time to Baptize our 1st baby I went to classes at the Lutheran Church. Every Sunday night, was supposed to be 12 weeks, but ran into 14. When the Pastor talked about Communion, Baptism, the Holy Sacraments, etc. he would explain what the different religions believe. He covered the Protestant, Catholic, and Lutheran religions. They basically have the same beliefs, but there are differences. I really enjoyed the class, we asked the Pastor anything we wanted to know, (did Mary and Joseph have sex?) and he talked about it. I felt very good about my decision to raise the kids Lutheran.

hello... well first of all the bible says we have ALL sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD or we miss the mark....sin is that which GOD created us NOT to do....we brought sin on our own self...that is why jesus died for our SINS so that GOD will forgive us....now as far as one sin being greater than the other SIN IS SIN...some sins have greater consiquenciss than others....if you steal something from someone you can give it back to them and they could forgive you...were as if you murder someone its harder to deal with that like as you could go to jail and so forth...but no sin is beyond the forgiveness of GOD... if you sin as we all do just ask GOD to forgive you and he will....

the sins of false teachings false witness, following antichrists and sexual sins in todays generation.

in the past men who claimed to be a christian have killed innocent people in the name of witchcraft(s). salem witch trials.
but catholics had bishops in authority that tortured people. and their witch burnings was not always righteous. so their lack of righteousness was/is in question. the crusaders were not servants of God but men who could fight with a sword. if you look at the templars they were guilty of 3 or 4 sins just in the manipulation of power and money.
the list is too great. but the question is ! will jesus forgive all of them or will they suddenly become sons of perdition and will not repent in the day of judgement

There is no sin greater than any other sin....ALL sin is equal....Stealing a penny is just as much of a sin as murder is in the eyes of God....Christians CAN live without sin..Sin IS a willful act....You do have control over what you do...Becaue we know right from wrong....

The major sin is Original Sin. Because of Adam and Eve's Fall, every human is prone to sinning because of this (the exceptions are the Blessed Virgin and Her Son).

There are the seven deadly sins: Lust (opposed by Chastity), Greed (opposed by Charity), Pride (opposed by humility), Sloth (opposed by diligence), Gluttony (opposed by temperance), Envy (opposed by kindness), and Wrath (opposed by forgiveness).
