CNN -- About 20 couples decided to be the first to take advantage of New Hampshire's new civil-unions law with a midnight ceremony on the Statehouse steps in Concord. Snow and freezing temperatures were forecast.

"I don't have any winter coats with rhinestones and glitter, so I'm just going to dress warmly," said organizer and participant Jennifer Major of Gilmanton, New Hampshire.

Ha, ha......I ain't gay, but I love sticking it to fundies.

Actually, on Saturday, I'll be performing one of the Civil Union ceremonies, as a minister, here in New Hampshire. I think it's one of the best things that's happened in this country.

I'm sure the fundies will be out there with their picket signs as usual.

If I lived anywhere near there I would bring some tomatoes to throw at the fundies.

Unless they are having sex over my oatmeal I could care less.

Like Ted Haggert or That Senator from Idaho. At least they aren't seducing teenage sunday school students or hooking up in an airport men's room.

Secondly 55% of hetero marriages end up in divorce, I'll bet the gay ones fare the same.

At least they won't be having abortions at taxpayer expense the way some of our religious candidates plan to support

Happy New Year

Why did you have to point out " I ain't gay"

What is wrong with being homosexual anyhow? You sound judgmental all around.

As a republican, I am glad that civil unions are happening. I have always supported them.

Why would you like "sticking it" to anyone unless you just enjoy being rude and obnoxious?

I may not agree with 9/10's of what a lot of fundamentalists believe, but just because you don't agree with someone else's opinions, it's not necessary to taunt them. That's playground stuff.

I'm a "fundie" and I think it's great.

I'm also a lesbian.

Go figure.

Way to "stick it to me."
