"genocide, slavery and imperialism" Actually they are, god advocated genocide several times in the bible, jesus seemed ok with slavery, and god loves conquest.

Even if they were based on ANY religious values... it would be Jewish! NOT Christian! The Christians who claim this are living in a dream world! And they need to remove their heads from their asses!

Where were the christian values when they murdered and enslaved the Native Americans, yes enslaved ! They shipped the native men over the age of 15 to the Caribbean, the women and children they used as slaves in the colony's
In the south eastern states they forced the women to have children with the black male slaves. They broke every treaty they ever made. They paid a bounty on natives from Maine to the tip of south America, even today native Americans are third class citizens, and do not give me flack about the casinos, it is poetic justice! Jesus would be appalled at what has been done in his name, and to add insult to injury they forced their religion on the survivors part native and proud of it

America was founded on deistic values. Not christian values.
Slavery and genocide were capitalistic and "democratic" values.
These are the same values that Bush is currently trying to "spread" in the middle east - Turning Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan into DEMOCRACIES.
And Bush claims to be a Christian.

America has some very sad episodes in its history.
but have you looked at any body else's history?
Not one modern country in the World is free of some dark past misdeed.
Do you want to blame current Christians for mistakes that their great-great-great-grandparents made?

Actually, such things are promoted in the Bible, so I would have to say "yes"; but America WAS NOT founded on Christian values. Please read the Treaty with Tripoli, especially article 11 for better information on that subject.

Islam is the greatest slave trading institution is all human history. The first international slave trading routes were created by Muslims (Sub-Saharan).
The reason why slavery flourished under Islam is because in Islam, everything Muhammad did is considered the eternal standard of conduct and Muhammad owned many slaves. Since Muhammad owned slaves, not only is it ok to own slaves, but it is considered "excellent" conduct under Islam.
Furthermore, the greatest genocide in human history were Islamic. Consider the following:
Genocide and Islam: Chapter 4 - Islam and the Muslim Invasions “Let it be said right away: the massacres perpetuated by Muslims in India are unparalleled in history, bigger than the Holocaust of the Jews by the Nazis; or the massacre of the Armenians by the Turks” http://www.nalanda.nitc.ac.in/resources/english/etext-project/history/gautier/chapter4.html
Ottoman Muslims systematically murder 1.5 million Armenians. It’s believed Hitler got the “genocide” idea from this “successful” Islamic genocide. http://www.armenian-genocide.org/genocide.html
Bangladesh Genocide – Nazi-style extermination of non-Muslims “The mass killings in Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) in 1971 vie with the annihilation of the Soviet POWs, the holocaust against the Jews, and the genocide in Rwanda as the most concentrated act of genocide in the twentieth century. http://www.gendercide.org/case_bangladesh.html
