I don't go out at all. Too many drunk drivers.

I used to. But the church we're attending now doesn't offer a New Year's service. Unless it fell on a Sunday. New Year's is not a holiday. It's an observance much like Memorial Day and Labor Day. The difference between a holiday and an observance is a holiday, which comes from the phrase Holy Day, is to celebrate what God has done. A day of observance is to celebrate what man has done. Both are good.

No, I don't go to church at all as I'm Pagan. We're doing some fireworks tonight.

Yes I attend church on New Years Eve. It's not a formal church service, but we all get together to ring in the new year on a good note. We also have communion and foot washings. I used to ring in the New Year in a drunken rampage. This way is so much better!

Yes, because it is a Holy Day of Obligation. Well, New Years Day is, but I go to the Vigil Mass on New Years Eve.

My other option was not a better one. I love spending time with my friends at church anway, yet the real reason I go is because I love the Lord. My church is amazing anyway!

I'm not a Christian, and the secular New Year's is not a Pagan holiday. Even if it were, we Pagans don't have churches as such.

Yes.
Our church has a tradition of writing down, kind of a prayer, of what we would ask God for in the coming year,a nd what we have been thankful for this year.
The church mails it to us in 6 months, to see what God has done.
