Yes. The one I have here is barely 8" tall.

I think it is difficult to decided on the evidence available how tall the average homo erectus was. the only nearly full skeleton found was the Turkana boy who appeared to be about 12 years old and about 5' 5" tall so it is likely that a full grown adult would be about 6' This is also indicated by some leg bones found in the UK so on the present evidence all we can say is that homo erectus was probably taller and more robust that modern humans

Nope. Homo Erectus's height is estimated at 5 feet 10 inches. Is that small? You be the judge.
