It's probably best to just use doggy shampoo. If you're going to use people shampoo though, at least use baby shampoo.

No. There are plenty of good dog shampoo's. I use a dog shampoo that is very gentle and good for her coat and skin condition. This shampoo keeps her from itching.

As long as you rinse it all out - human shampoo is fine. I've used it before on mine.
Like any shampoo - just keep it out of their eyes.

I used people shampoo on my dogs with no adverse reactions actually I think it made their coat and skin softer. They were Rotts, who are susceptible to skin conditions such as dry skin and irritation. You have to make sure you keep it out of their eyes and mouth.

In an absolute emergency you can use tearless baby shampoo. It won't burn the eyes, but even it is too drying for their skin on a regular basis.
On allergenic dogs you can use plain IVORY bar soap (no other just IVORY) for bathing.
Otherwise it's a good idea to use a tearless veterinary shampoo. Most human shampoos will cause chemical burns to their eyes and all human shampoos have too many surfactants and will severely dry dog skin. (They don't produce the same amount of oil that humans do - that's why we're okay with soaps that they aren't.)

The PH is different too. If you want to ruin their coat and possibly their skin, then yes, go for it. Would you use dog shampoo for yourself?

I used to wash my little poodle with baby shampoo and even regular shampoo. Just don't get it into your dogs eyes.
Happy New Year!

No.
If you had to use it though, you must dilute it first.
