...and since tonight is New Years... can I drink?

What type of problems, if any, would arise if I did?

Can I drink AFTER getting my Wisdom Teeth out?

Can you eat normally yet?? I would recommend not drinking for one reason. Dry socket. There is a blood clot in the hole where your wisdom teeth were. It may have dried up and started healing by now, but it is there to protect the wound. I've had dry socket, and it was one of the most painful things I have ever endured.

If you can eat completely normally already, then maybe you could. But keep in mind you are probably still on pain meds and combining them with alcohol could have very serious consequences.

Well, it all depends on how you handle it. The day I got mine out, I was a lil out of it and tired due to the sedatives, so I went home, took a nap. After that, I was on painkillers, hydrocodone, but I was fine, and would have been able to go out if I wanted to. I actually had a friend come over, watched a movie and stuff, and everything was ok. If you really want to go to the game, you'll probably be able to, just depends how you handle the sedatives and painkillers.

if you're gettin knocked all the way out for complete surgery do NOT drink. adverse reactions to the IV drugs/sedatives and pain meds you might be getting. also, you don't want to take anything that thins your blood. you want your blood to clot after the surgery. also, if you are getting drugged up, you won't be able, or want to drink anything afterwards, not good for you to drink alchohol because it's a diarrhetic (which means it dehydrates you, not good for your kidneys or liver especially in conjunction with medications of any sort).

I've had them out, and man does it hurt!!! But don't worry u will be on a lot of morphine for the pain!
So its best not to drink when on this medication! You would be more drunk than the average person- if you persue this action!
I'd advise u not too!
Hope I didn't scare ya?!
Everything will go fine- your asleep when it happens. So no worries!

Yes you can drink. Friday is days away. Just make sure you don't get food stuck in the big holes in the back of your mouth. Always always syringe w/ water after putting anything in your mouth. Also, don't drink with a straw. It can pull the stitches out. But the dentist should give you everything you need to know. Everyone heals differently. My healing process was particuarly good. I didn't take any of the drugs given by the dentist. Just took like 6 tylonol through out the entire healing process. You'll be fine. Good luck!!

No my mom is a dentist and it only matters the day your taking your teeth out you have to eat and enjoy your food because it could be a few days before you can eat well.... Ps. its not that bad i had 4 taken off at once. no pain killers for me.

And i dont think you would take medicine a 4 days before you go in to get them out.

After they are removed you will be sore for a few weeks. eat soft textured foods only. I see no problem with having champagne or wine on New Years Eve.

I doubt that would be a problem; just make sure you don't eat 24 hours before the operation, especially if you're going under anesthesia.
