Approximatley 60,000 were made from 1906-1936. Values run from $150 for a model 8 in 60% condition to $700 or more for one in 100% condition. Add 15% for one in .25 Remington caliber, and the higher grades C through F command substantial premiums.

Unless I'm mistaken, a Remington Model 8 was never chambered in .22LR. Upload photos of what you have. Pay close attention to the markings, and upload CLEAR photos of the them. Post links for us. Because not only do I question if what you have is even a .22-caliber rifle, the condition of the rifle will be a significant qualifier for the value of the rifle. In excellent condition, it might be worth $1,000 or more, but if it is in horrible condition, it may only be worth a tiny fraction of that. (Note that $1,000 is just a random value, not any sort of valuation of what you have.) EDIT: You might have a Remington Model 16, which was chambered for the obsolete .22 Remington Auto cartridge. Since the Model 16 is the ONLY gun ever chambered for that cartridge, I assume that's what you have. If so, your rifle would be valued at no more than $500, I'd guess, if it was in perfect, unfired condition. According to my 2007 Gun Trader's Guide, the gun was valued at $437 in 2007. Since that was about six years ago, the gun would have appreciated very slightly, provided it is in good condition. If it is in good used condition, you could probably get $200-$250 for it from a collector.

Most people are looking for a Model 81 which is the next decendant in line from the Model 8 and supposed to be an improvement. Both models are HEAVY due to their action type. Usually the one's in .300 Savage are the most wanted. This may affect what you can get for your rifle if you were to sell it depending upon the caliber yours is. These are a neat piece of history too.
