yes it is illegal but if you want to help your friends then do it. as long a they don't post it online for millions of other users to use it then its fine....... you bought it and should be able to do whatever you want with your newly acquired property(even though they might tell you otherwise on the package)

It's illegal. You have rights of use when you buy the software. If you make a copy of it and give it away, that person didn't buy rights to use the software. It's illegal.

Since you're giving it to your friend it's most likely illegal, because you're making another workable copy. Usually the license allows only one workable copy at a time.
If you don't make another installation, you can burn a CD for your personal use as a backup of original CDs, for example. That is given you don't crack anything, etc.

If the license is for a single user, and you want to burn a copy for a friend, then no, it is not legal. Even for backup purposes, it is technically illegal, as it's illegal to circumvent copy protection. Remember though that legal does not necessarily mean ethical, and the likelihood of someone finding out and caring is quite low.

It's just as legal as stealing something from a store "just for your friend."

No, you are giving it to a friend, which, is technically not allowed.

When you buy it, you are buying it's license for just yourself, also, if it is a popular game, they usually have things that stop you from copying it.
Also if it needs a serial key, your friend will not be able to use it. After a serial key has been used, it may not be used again unless you unregister your product.

Yes. Copyrighted means copyrighted, it can't be legally copied.
