When there are so many other religions with other creation ideas and other gods.

I mean I know different cultures grew up in different parts of the world, but if God was true, why would they not know about him.

Because its followers don't terrorize, plot bombs or freak everyone out in the name of Christ. Because among its true believers still exist people who carry out the true meaning of christianity, love and forgiveness. I personally know two of them. Both are nuns. One is a permanent resident ( and has been for the past 40 years) in an islamic country, in a leprosarium. Her outstanding life is a testimony of love and empathy. The other one also served many poor, needy and outcast people in an islamic country. She left her own native Spain, her family, one of nobility, her wealth and status to commit herself to God. That is true selflessness. Any religion that has these features must be the true one.

You don't. There were plenty of religions before Christianity. Any of those could be the "true" one. Most of the bible was parroted from other cultures and religions anyway.

Personally, I'm a Pagan, and have been for years, I feel that this is the true religion for me, but there are many paths, choose what feels right for you.

Most religions, from what I know, insist that they are the one true faith and the ticket to salvation. This, above all else, has caused friction between believers of different faiths. Furthermore, the expectation on Christians and Muslims to gather converts is a driving force in their religions. Other religions don't openly seek converts.

Most religions teach that peace and compassion for others are what is required on Earth, regardless of what other beliefs they have.

As far as I know, only Buddhism recognises the universality of other religions, because other religions will give you strategies to help you not to sin, which creates good Karma and limits bad Karma, which also gets you closer to the Buddhist version of salvation.

Islam teaches that God will reveal himself to all people. Perhaps the plethora of religions is God's way of revealing himself to humanity for the greater good of humankind.

I'm not a Christian or a Muslim.

1. That the teachings makes sense. Christianity does not - same with most other religions - they remain unbelievable too.
2. That they do good works - making significant contributions to society as a whole, etc etc. If you review the influence of Christianity - you have the introduction of Christianity destroying native cultures - forever - in which they burned anything they did not like. Making up their minds - it was the work of the devil.
Whether they have advanced (or held back) our knowledge. Christianity held the development of science back.. how many 100s of years?
3. If they resort to devious methods of indoctrination and programming. Religions which "preach" show clear evidence of this. The Bible is riddled with such propaganda - in all it's claims.
4. They make promises - that cannot be delivered --- and are unbelievable that they ever could be. They rely on their false promises for indoctrination and propaganda.

Christianity as a whole - does not show itself to be a true religion in any way. Sure there is the God is love / compassion angle - but that has never been the dominant driving force of Christianity - and only the afterthought, remainder.
