What will it take to believe in Christianity? What do Christians need to change about themselves. What should be done in order for people to believe the truth? These are just question not an offense.

Sorry. It is not my truth. More power to you for being happy in your fantasy but please don't try to drag me and any other rational people into it.

I like and will answer one part of your question. "What should be done in order for people to believe the truth?"

In Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary Eleventh Edition Copyright 2005:
Truth and Reality are defined as follows;

Truth 3a: the property (as of a statement) of being in accord with fact or reality.

Reality 2b: something that is neither derivative nor dependent but exists necessarily

Which is to say that one single person has only one truth,
"Their own."
So leave people alone, they will come to their own truth.

As a Society we recognize (by voting or not) ideas that we believe are "transcendent truths."(Truths for everyone) They become our laws. But religion is a much more "individual truth" that when put into law make people very uncomfortable, and most times resistant. Study religious history (any denomination) for 1 hour and you will see many splinters off of all "Self Proclaimed" main groups.

Everyone wants evidence that God exists. Do anyone need evidence when cold wind blows and causes you to shiver from the chill of it? Can we see the wind? How do you know it exists? Will anyone say the wind doesn't exist because we can't see it? All we know is what it does.
This is how Christians know there is a God.
How were you able to write a book report in school, on what really happened 100 years before you were born? You had to read the book first, right? Well, why not go to the bookstore, and pick up the Holy Bible, and read it? All of the evidence are in there.
And anyway, how do you know God doesn't exist?
Hey, if you simply don't believe, than you alone will be judged.

Thank you for your concern and open discussion.

I'm sorry but I just can't accept the Christian deity. I tried for many years and it just didn't work. I have found the path I was meant for and have peace. My religion is the truth for me.

Thank you for being willing to discuss and question how people can understand Christianity better.

Nothing would make me change my beliefs. You could barrage me with as much "proof" and scripture as you want, but I'm not going to change my religion to something else when I've already got something that works for me. Religion is not about who has the most proof or appeal. It's about complementing the individual to their own benefit. Christianity does not complement me well- it does nothing for me, so no amount of appeal in the world is going to get me to abandon the religion that DOES complement me.

They say "gimme proof," but the truth is the same today as it was in the days of Jesus. Men constantly hollered for a sign and Jesus said 'I have been with you all this time and you still do not know who I am?" So signs will not be given to this wicked generation any more than they were given in Jesus' time. Men love to lust and love their sins far more than they want to be clean. So until man desires pleasing God "more" than themselves, there is no proof or sign that will ever be good enough to break through their hardened heart! If I'm an offense to a non-believer, then I'm doing something right not wrong because Jesus said offences would come to His children. So I'm not going to water down God's Word just to tickle a sinner's itch.

It takes "Faith" to believe in God. As Scripture says "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." When you first come to Jesus, we come "as we are" and we trust the Lord enough to know that He won't keep us that way because we are constantly growing, learning, becoming that new man in Christ when we are obedient to His teachings. No one can force another to believe. That's not our job. Our duty is only to share, tell, and if you want to know Jesus.........there's room at the cross for you. As the wonderful hymn says: "though millions have come, there's still room for one. Yes, there's room at the cross for you." I hope you all come!

First off, they have to accept that 'the truth' is not the truth for all people. As long as Christians insist that theirs is the only way to correctly worship God and that all other ways are blasphemy, Christianity will have no validity with people of other religions, and rightly so.

This holds true for all religions, not just Christianity.

Before you can convert others, you have to show tolerance and respect for them and their beliefs. Saying that you respect someone while still believing that only your religion is 'the truth' is not respect.

Christianity needs to come to the realization that they do not have "the truth".

Offer me some real proof. Conjecture and hearsay do not work.
