Song of Solomon I would rate X. R is too light.

I would consider the Bible as a whole to be unrated which, if anyone knows their modern movies, is considered to be a higher rating than R or X because the content is so controversial. For that reason, I don't understand how parents, who claim to monitor everything their kids see and read, allow them to read the Bible with no supervision.

No reading without a parent present! It is necessary to teach younger children without the harsh reality, and choose your words carefully when explaining the meaning of something to them. No need to scare them as we older lads were. When I was young and went to church, I stayed in a consent state of fear. I watched the sky at night thinking the clouds and sky was going to roll up and end was on us. Only with age and understanding did I realize, That No One Knew When.!! But I babble, Good reading.

Bad fiction, children's fairy tales that are not suitable for children, silliness, contradictions, the biggest source of wars, hate, senseless guilt, and misery !! There are many "Bibles" and religions. A clue that there is no "true" bible or religion

The Bible covers almost every area or topic in life but that does not make it a bad book.

I think you're being quite conservative there. Maybe the OT needs to use video game ratings - rated M for mature audiences. I think deuterotomy deserves AO for adults only.

I'd say PG-13 due to violence and sex-related topics.
