Make a solution of about 4oz warm water and a very tiny amount of salt. You should barely be able to taste the salt. Gargle with this every few hours or so. Spit it out - don't swallow it.

Also, some hot tea sweetened with honey sometimes helps soothe irritated tissues.

Avoid anything spicy.

Also sucking on a lemon always helps my throat. I cut in half and put a little salt or sugar on it and it helps.

Soda. for me Sprite or 7Up.
Also chicken soup with a little extra salt.
You might also try gurgling some salt water.
