I have read it before, and the version I read was....ok. I would like to find a better English translation to add to my library.
FYI: I am not a Muslim, nor am I religious. I just like studying religious texts. :) Thanks in advance!

The Message of the Quran
Transliterated by Mohammad Asad, a Jew war correspondent during WWII. He spent lot of time with Muslim rulers in Middle East and Pakistan. He revert to Islam in fifties and wrote many books besides this work on Quran.
It has
1. Arabic Text
2. Pronunciation
2. Translation
4. Explanation
Its index is excellent - much better than Yusuf Ali and English language is not of Biblical Style like Yusuf Ali. But as English is spoken normally.
I have used Quran with Yusuf Ali translation for last 35 years. I received copy of Mohammad Asad translation recently and I like it a lot.

Yusuf Ali translation seems to be the most popular (and my personal fave). Good luck with your studies!

I cannot remember any, but i studied it too, and can give one piece of advice.
When writing about certain points, i suggest you read the full chapters, and other bits mentioned in the Quran.
Otherwise youll find youve mentioned something wrong.
e.g. there is no god but Allah...
Not reading the full thing can pop out
"There is no god..."
