When we woke up yesterday morning we found our 16 year old Male Cat laying on his side panting. He was fine the night before. We found poop on the floor with some blood in it and vomit as well. We took him to the vet and he was getting worse by the minute. Over the years his hair has been thinning and he has been drooling in his sleep when sitting and laying down. He ate right, went to the litter box fine and ate fine. He would hack some times and gag, but we just thought it was old age? Anyways we had to put him down yesterday and it was really hard for us. We thought it was strange he would go this quick! We love him still very much. I just wish we knew what was wrong with him. The Doc thought it might have been Feline Leukemia. If he had that, he hid it really good, cause he ate good, slept good, went to the litter box good and all of that... If anyone can tell me what they think, please let me know. Thanks!

A simple test can determine whether your cat had Leukemia or not though I'm not entirely sure it can be done post-mortem. Was this cat allowed to go outside? Because if so and he wasn't innoculated against FeLv he could have picked it up. If your cat was a housecat with no time spent outdoors I don't think your vet would say this. Another example of why cats belong indoors. Did you ever take him to the vet "over the years" when his hair started thinning or when he was drooling?

Such an cute cat, that probable merely needed to be enjoyed, strengthen into killed for his plea for interest. I merely % to circulate over there and shoot the guy. people can get indignant and lose administration. I even have one 10 year old cat good now who's an purely indoor cat. We have been to have the kitten indoors, till she died. we will get a three year old cat in a pair of days, and save her interior besides. i does no longer propose which you check out it and inspect, in view which you may finally end up getting somebody much extra indignant and possibily even circulate after your different cats if somebody DID do it. i might merely propose that in keeping with hazard you spend some time with your different cats, and merely be helpful you do your greiving, it is o.k. to cry! It takes time, and that i'm hoping which you all finally end up o.k. and that i choose you the wonderful of success. i'm helpful our kitties are taking part in jointly in kitty heaven, waiting for us. :)

I'm so sorry your cat died.

Being a cat lover myself, I know how terribly painful and heartbreaking it must have been to have him put down.

Try and remember the good times you had with him over the last sixteen years.

It will help you get over your cat's loss quicker.

I wish you all the very best and please accept my warmest wishes!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm sorry for your loss, it was just his time, 16 years is a long life for a pet and I am sure he had a good life with you or he wouldn't have lived that long.
