and now there is a sore there that has been there for 5 days and isn't getting any better. I can't eat, drink, smile, etc. without it hurting. Acidic and salty foods make it sting even more. What can I do to help soothe the sore and make it go away faster? Thanks!

My mother always used tincture of Iodine on sores in the mouth. it hurts when you put it on but it will heal a sore up pretty quickly. apply two or three times a day and it will do thje trick. you can't swallow the stuff but it won't hurt you to apply the dropper to the sore.

Gently brush your teeth and tongue with HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. It will heal cheek & tongue bites, gum problems, infections and disease. Do it twice daily till the pain heals. Then keep doing it two or three times a week to keep your mouth healthy.

It is excellent for taking care of bad breath also. Bad breath comes from infection.

well this will take time, don't' keep touching it with your tung, and when you sleep that is when the healing happens. just eat on the other side of your mouth, and rinse your mouth with Scope, or Listerine to keep it clean to it can heal faster.
