I agree that JW's come to sites like this and count time, as they have to report hours spent proselytizing each month.
This thread reminds me of a song on Sesame Street:
A JW is a person in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood, in you neighborhooooood!
A JW is a person in your neighborhood - the people that you meet when you're walking down the street, the people that you meet each day!
The word "apostate" could be substituted for "JW" in the lyrics above.
In real life, JW's are not allowed to speak to "apostates" in most cases, so they can do it here without getting caught so easily or have a built-in excuse of "how would I know apostates posted there?" Forbidden fruit still tastes sweeter, eh?
"Apostates" can speak with whomever they like, including JW's, because they no longer must obey anybody or anything except their own conscience. But they don't get to count their time spent here and impress the elders.

Unless the questioner is herself a JW who likes Y!A, there seems no way that she could be certain her premise is true.
One might hypothesize that a Jehovah's Witness might "like Y!A" for its opportunity to research and refute certain arguments of false religion which he rarely confronts during his typical face-to-face ministry.
Yahoo Answers does not require or even encourage socializing between participants. A Jehovah's Witnesses can correctly reason that his personal choice to respond to a question of faith is far different from a choice to socialize.
...(1 Peter 3:15) Sanctify the Christ as Lord in your hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason for the hope in you, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect.
There is no rational reason to suppose that corresponding via the internet must be viewed differently than corresponding by post or on the telephone.
None of this should blind Christians to the fact that the internet can be used to waste time and view unwholesome material. As with television, Christians are encouraged to be selective in their choice of virtual association. There is no need to watch an entire program, or read an entire website/"question" to recognize its unwholesomeness.
(1 Corinthians 15:33) Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits.

Well u have confused me b/c u "CLAIM" (and I use that term loosely) that you are a witness. Why do YOU like it on here? You should be answering your own question.

This is asked ALLOT.
Answering on Y!A is something I do for a couple of reasons. One is because to post questions you must have points, to obtain points you need to answer questions, to get questions fast you need best answers, to get best answers you should answer about something you know, since I know my beliefs I feel this is a good subject for me to answer on. I also answer questions about Anime, Pets, Video Games, TV, etc. I originally came to Y!A because I at times have questions about various things, mostly related to videogames (which I in turn am a seller these trying HARD to get a hobby/business going). I have also found Y!A to be a good source of aid with my poor typing/spelling skills.
I do appreciate the concern your comment shows. The net is not a place to make friends. Just as there are good and bad people in the real world there are Good and Bad people on line. The difference is it is much easier to hide ones truer nature on the net. Discernment is always needed.
A good bar to judge whether or not to count time, or whether or not one should be here, is does it bother your conciense to do it??, if so, then don't
Honestly I generally view Y!A as having 2 members, me and all the other IDs. I try to answer the question, not the questioner so much.

I enjoy witnessing on this site as I am not able to do as much as I would like the field ministry. I also partake in the telephone witnessing at the Kingdom Hall.
I do not however respond to questions asked by apostates and disfellowshiped ones - I have these ones blocked and as I learn of any new apostates I block them accordingly.
Even in the field ministry one may come across a apostate and converse with them without knowing that they are one.But once you find out you avoid them like cancer.

I've learned a lot from the research I've done to answer many of the lies being told here.
I strive to avoid 'responding' to those I know are apostates, and they are easy to identify.
I've learned how far Christendom will go to spread lies about the bible, and Jehovah's organization.
I've learn how many 'Christians' will totally ignore context to prove a point.
I've even been misquoted by several in other's answers / questions.
on the other hand
I've had some very interesting conversations with individuals,
Will they accept the truth? I can only pray so.
Every time I start to get discouraged, I get an email from a non Witness, or even other Witnesses expressing appreciation for some answer I've given.
Is Yahoo for every Witness, probably not.

JW most likely like this site because a door isn't slammed in their faces.
Though I believe the JW to be not of God, I don't slam the door in their face. What I do is try to help them understand their way is not the way of God proving to them their is the doctrine of men and not of God.
Most of the time, it is a waste of time, but the Lord has planted seeds to some who were not that indoctrinated into this false religion as of yet.

Luke 5:27-32
Now after these things he went out and beheld a tax collector named Le′vi sitting at the tax office, and he said to him: “Be my follower.” 28Â And leaving everything behind he rose up and went following him. 29Â Also, Le′vi spread a big reception feast for him in his house; and there was a great crowd of tax collectors and others who were with them reclining at the meal. 30Â At this the Pharisees and their scribes began murmuring to his disciples, saying: “Why is it YOU eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” 31Â In reply Jesus said to them: “Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but those who are ailing do. 32Â I have come to call, not righteous persons, but sinners to repentance.”
Y!A is just another tool. We meet apostates when we go house to house also.

Perhaps it's because they feel that they can reach a group of people on here that they normal couldn't elsewhere.
