In a country where there is terrible poverty, are you really surprised that there are prostitutes when the alternative is starvation?

Maybe it has to do with the crushing poverty that these people live in. Maybe they are selling the only thing that they have in order to stave off homelessness and starvation.
Its easy to judge from a warm, comfortable home with a pantry full of food, now isn't it?
