And did all that money came from the wallets of the American people? Did the American people agree and authorize the spending of 500 billion dollars of THEIR own money?
I wonder if that money would not have been much better spent in improving helth care for all Americans instead.

I meant "health" not "helth".

Weren't the wars in the USA the reason why you have income tax? End the war and you get to keep the income tax you pay. Check your pay stub where it says tax and you'll know how much you spend on the war. I wonder if the Americans feel safer today then they did 30 years ago?

At 4 percent of GDP, defense spending is one and a half percentage points of GDP below the 45-year historical average and well below Cold War and Vietnam War levels.
Your $5 billion amount sounds like a lot of money, but 3x that amount has been spent on government pork perks.... like the bridge to nowhere in Alaska.

Our health care wouldn't be worth squat if the extreme Islamist terrorist were able to subvert our freedoms. You would not care if you weren't able to get your teeth whitened or didn't get your choice of an abortion if the terrorists triggered an atomic bomb over your city.

No. It is not true. It's not even close.

737,000,000,000 prior to the last authorization. And that's the total GWOT--Operations in Afghansitan, Guatemala, Continental Africa, the Philippines, Indonesia, Georgia... are all included as well as Iraq.

My figures show the GWOT spending is less than 1% of GDP annually. That makes this the cheapest war in US history.
