Every question I've seen today has been littered with "Judgment is upon us, Christians FLEE THE CHURCHES, God is going to end the world in X amount of days!"

Did God give a sermone somewhere that no one heard but these people, and why are there so many of them today?

LOL, maybe it's because today is Dec. 31 (at least in GA, USA).

I predict people will still be preaching "end times" in 2525.

And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is
red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times.

I see them here all the time. They just tend to get noisier when the new year rolls around.

Of course, we can just roll our eyes at them because they're going to feel really stupid when their "the end is here" date predictions come and go (again) and they're left standing there looking like idiots. How many times in history have people gone on about the world ending? Countless. This is just more of the same.

I prefer to not call anyone idiots - but I do agree with you that there is a distinct eschatological flavour to some of today's questions.

Perhaps this is where psychopathology meets ill informed theology.....
It is the last day of the year....nothing very special in that to most people but to those whose minds have been directed into thinking of "ages" and "end times" the end of the year seems to "trigger" the questions.

Maybe it's because "Jesus Camp" was on tv nationwide last night. The show about the Fundamentalist Christian camp for brainwashing children bigtime. Ted Haggard, the gay meth freak who used to run that huge megachurch in Colorado but got busted a while back, is in it too.

I just dropped in, and haven't seen any yet, but I guess the end of the year is as near as it gets to the end of time, for judgement day merchants, who, after all, aren't very bright.
