alright I'm gonna tell you what happened with me. I'm also a strong christian. I wasn't at the time I got my tattoo though. One thing that ended up happening though is that I now have all these kids looking up to me as an example, they see my tattoo and I feel like I've let them down as a "christian role model" I'm not against tattoos as long as you're ready for the consequences of feeling bad for not being a bad role model.
As for being to young, I do think 13 is to young. I'm 16, be 17 soon. I think even I'm to young. Listen, I'm going to be honest with you, Yes, I was very excited the first couple months I had it. But, I felt even worse after. I did it illegally. The state I live in requires you to be 18 to get tattoos 16 with parental consent. My parents are strongly against tattoos so I knew it wasn't worth asking. They were out of the country and I went to get it. Sweeheart, it already is something I regret. Because I "thought" I really wanted it, but I didn't. I thought that I was "ready" and old enough to make my own decision on it.....I wasn't. Even at 16 I wasn't. I just got my tattoo over the summer. I don't like it now and now I have to live with it forever. Believe me WAIT. I mean yes, you could get a tattoo, if you are really set on it. You can find a place that will give you one. One that you can BS you're way into getting what you want. I'm not gonna lie to you, yes, it can be "thrilling" and get your adreniline going but it really is not worth it. Not right now. There's alot more to the story. If you wanna now, just e-mail me or something.

Aside from your personal struggles, you'll want to consider the shop and artist you plan to visit. First, they can answer your questions about the law and their policy on tattooing minors. Second, you'll want to make sure it's a shop that will welcome you and give you a comfortable environment for such a momentous ocassion.

You can find a list of local tattoo shops at http://findtattooshops.com. Just search for your address and it'll pull back all shops within 50 miles. Good Luck!

Childrens names on the left back shoulder blade area, Melanie on the right back shoulder blade. Old English lettering is a nice style surrounded (with room for addition on the left) with old English ivy and or any other vegetation that appeals to you. The Tatt people will draw something up special just with this rudimentary idea to start with, a good tatt parlor is usually pretty creative with just an idea of what you want.

honestly, you shouldn't get a tattoo at 13. why? because any place that will disregard the laws against tattooing underage people will also likely disregard the laws for using new needles and sterile equipment. do you really want to risk getting hepatitis just to have a tattoo at 13? also, you will probably change your mind about what you want to get as you get older. most people who get tattoos removed later in life got them before they were 18 years old.

i have nothing against tattoos, i have them myself but i do think you should wait until it is legal for you to get them. as for being a christian and having tattoos i don't think there is anything wrong with it. i am a christian and have tattoos and have plans for getting more tattoos in the future.

I am a christian also, and I looked to see if there was anything saying we shouldn't get tattoos also before I got mine and i couldn't find anything, but that may have been b/c i didn't want to find anything b/c i really wanted that tattoo. I was 17 when I got mine so I wasn't as young as you, but if you feel that you're old enough, what's the use of people telling you that you aren't? But anyways, your design sounds cute, but maybe you should get it somewhere else b/c if your parents said you can't get it and if you want to keep it somewhere that you don't have to worry about people seeing it if you regret it (which i hope you won't) you should probably get it somewhere like your hip or something. Good luck!

Your 13........ What could you possibly want tattooed on your body that your still going to want 20 years from now let alone 5 years from now...... Thats is very stupid and it has nothing to do with being a Christian..... If you still want the same tattoo 5 years from now when you do turn 18 then I would say it safe to say go for it........

At 13, no reputable shop or professional artist will work on you, consent or not. The states that do allow tattooing of minors with parental consent usually enforce a minimum age of 16. Even then, the studio may opt not to work on you. It's their call.

You're not nearly done growing yet. Get something now and by the time you are 18 it might just be a warped mess.

Take the time you have now and plan. Portfolio shop. Learn what good art is. Take your time selecting an artist. Figure out what you do want... because your tastes are going to change greatly over the next ten years... what seems like a great idea now may not seem so great later on. Or you'll realize that what you wound up with could have been so much better.

As a trained professional in this trade, I wouldn't even entertain the idea of tattooing someone so young. And yes, you are young, even if you don't want to hear it. The more you throw a fit about people telling you you're too young only proves that. Give it a few years.

ok so do you want the truth ...or some made up crap?

no tattoo shop will work on you ...because your not 18
( most states it against the law)

and as far as not being committed ...you should read your little book of lies and see what it says. You might be christian.
while your siting there and looking down your noise at the rest of the world, but don't judge those you ask. You,asked a question, except the answers you get.

sorry the truth hurts...welcome to the real world !
