Today is my 16th birthday,, and i didn't have a party or anything..i'm just gonna have dinner and cake with my mom, dad and sister. And they got me an ipod =] But this girl i know is having a party today and it;s her birthday too. (The party is like celebrating both New Years & her b-day) Me and my best friend really wanted to go and were looking forward to it..but now i'm starting to doubt it because my dad isn't gonna be home, he has to go to work and won't come home until like 12 or 1 am. So my mom will just be celebrating New years at home with my 6 year old sister, she's not even gonna drink champange because she's gonna have to pick up my dad from work...even though we are having a snow storm..she wouldn't have to pick my dad up if she didn't have to drive me to the party. I feel bad, but i wanna go. What do i do? I talked to her about it and she said to not worry about her and just go have fun...but i feel bad! :(

Wow, it is great that you are concerned about your mother, that indicates maturity and responsibility. Go and have a good time as your mother said but don't let her down by being stupid at the party. Tell your mother you love her and of course wish her happy new year before you go.

That is very nice to think of your mother like that. You really are a good person. Most parents would say "Don't worry about it. Go have fun". Talk to her and make her tell you what she wants to do. Follow your heart, and I'll know you'll make the right choice.

Happy New Year and Birthday!!!!!!

Your mom is pretty nice. I'd go, just like she says. Have a good time!

You are a dream daughter!!! How very thoughtful and caring you are. You must be in a wonderful family and here is your father working hard on a holiday just to support you all , to be able to pay for your food, clothes and shelter. I worry about the storm part of it. Driving is not as safe in a snowstorm. I am not going to tell you what I think you should do because I know you are very mature for your age and you will decide the very best thing to do!!!! Happy New Year
