By Christians I mean. And this can't involve parking spaces or that sort of 'go to hell'. ;)

I see so much hubbub about this, and yet when I was *not* a Christian --- before I was 26 ---, I don't think this ever, ever came up.

I had many boyfriends and all that entails, was an alcoholic (well, still am, but don't drink now), smoked, did drugs (nothing hard but still) --- I wasn't exactly living a chaste or virtuous life by a Christian's/Bible's standards. There are other things I could say about my 'past life' but I'm not posting this to be titillating, just to note that no one would have mistaken me for a Christian, and I didn't profess to be one, either.

I mean are Christians walking up to people they don't know and telling them this? Again, outside of maybe street preachers or something like R&S which would naturally lend itself to very frank talk about religion --- how often does this happen to you? Has it ever happened?

Just edit to add --- I was living in Nashville and/or Memphis --- pretty much as Bible Belt as a place can be.

Only a couple of times.

Usually religion does not come up in a conversation.

We are living in the latter days. When the Jews returned to Israel in 1948 the Countdown for the coming of the Lord began.

Christians love every person and we do not want any to perish, but God says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."

The closer we get and we are pretty close at this moment, Christians will be begging non-believers to accept Jesus as their Savior and save their soul from hell. If you do not see Christians doing this, then believe me they are NOT Christian.
It would be easy to ignore the non-believers and just let them end up in hell, but God teaches us to love them and whenever possible to snatch them out of the fire. We can't make anyone accept Jesus as their Savior, but we can let you know that He loves you and He died so you could have eternal life.
He bore the shame of that horrible crucifixion for you and me.

The time is short and Christians need to get their houses in order and preach the gospel to the unsaved. Judgment has already began in the house of God.

I live in the bible belt and I hear that junk from every door to door God salesperson that bangs on my door......

edit
The cities you named are not too far from me, but you have to admit that when there term “bible belt” deals more with the rural aspect and not so much the urban.

This happened to me at least once a month after I stopped attending a Christian church until I moved out of the South. People would stop me out of nowhere in public to ask if I was saved or to talk about their God. When I told them I was no longer Christian, there it was.

It's happened. When I was in a rock band about 23 years ago I actually had protesters tell everyone that showed up that one night.

I also made the mistake of letting my high school know I was an atheist. I heard it a lot.

Not often. Maybe once or twice a month.

I live in the southern USA. That might make a difference.
