The short answer is, nowhere. Not without huge risks of viruses and other malware. Your only options are to sign up for one of those free trials which allows you to download as much music as you wish. If you like the service, you can then sign up and pay the monthly fee.
There are dozens of places on the web where you can download music. The problem is all the malware you get along with the music.
I strongly reccomend you go with only the well known and trusted website music services, such as iTunes, the Microsoft music store, or another.
A couple of weeks ago I could have given you links to the major music stores, but my system crashed after I attempted to update my adapters driver, and I lost my favorites. I kept my other files but I hadn't exported my favorites for a long time, and so lost over two years worth of important links. Bummer!
Good luck in finding the Online music store which is right for you. Please have a nice day.
*edit* I just went to MP3 Center, and read all the information there, (which I do on any website I consider signing up for any type of service, etc) and they say that:
Disclaimer: MP3 Center is not liable for any viruses which may infect your system. While these are not the exact phrase, it is essentially what they say. They go on to say that their music "offerings" are made via links to third-party sites, and that they are not in any way liable for those sites actions. They further state that they will not be held liable for any damges which arises from your use of this site, nor the actions of any linked site.
I would not touch that website with a ten foot pole. Anyone who does should have a very strong security defense, and not one of the home versions, but more like a corperate version.
Use At Your Own Risk. That is basically what their disclaimer states. Read it yourself by clicking on the Disclaimer link at the far left bottom of the page.
I can not strongly enough reccomend that any site you choose to download items from be checked out vigerously. Read the Privacy Policy, any Disclaimers, and check for membership with a Trust group, such as the BBBOnline, or Verasign, etc.
*edit* Just returned from checking out Bear Share. You may like to know that this website uses technology which allows the "user" to do searches. These searches go throughout the entire Internet Community, and the technology allows Bear Share to see where a "user" goes, and what a "user" does.
On its Privacy Policy page, Bear Share states the company nor any third-party affilliated with them, will aggragate the information they collect, or Sceen-Scrape, which means collecting the information peice by peice, adding it together to make a full and completely detailed profile of the "user".
This means that Bear Share has this capability! It further more goes on to state that they will not collect the "users" keystrokes and add them into any profile. The fact that they state they will not do this, means they have the capability to do so! This is keylogging behavior!
This software which does indeed allow "users" to download "free" music is intrusive and keylogging software. Therefor, use with extreme caution, at your own risk, or not at all.
I was also unable to locate any membership to a Trust oganization. Which means they can say anything they please, yet are not bound to what they say. Rather like a politician who while campagning, makes all these promises to get elected, but is not bound by any law to keep those promises! Rather gimpy if you ask me.
People, please do your research on these types of websites. You can inadvertently be allowing a complete profile of who you are, where you live, the software which is installed on your system, where you go Online, what you do Online, to be gathered into a unique profile which is all about YOU. They then use this information.....how? To better serve you? To serve up ads which you might find interesting? Who knows what they will do with a complete profile of who we are, where we live, what we view Online, what we buy Online, who we speak to Online, what groups we belong to, the list goes on and on.
