There used to be so many,
of my finger prints to see,
on furniture, walls and things,
from sticky grubby me,

But if you stop to think a while,
you`ll see i`m growing fast,
those tiny handprints disappear,
you can`t bring back what`s past,

so here`s a small reminder,
to keep, not wipe away,
of tiny hands and how they looked,
to make you smile someday.

LOVELY IS`NT IT? type this out and stick onto large piece of paper, and then cut out your little ones hand prints and glue around the edges, then frame.
does anyone have any others like this??

Here's a couple that I have saved over the years. I'm not sure who the author is of either one.

To Any Dad

There are little eyes upon you,
And they're watching night and day
There are little ears that quickly
Take in every word you say
There are little hands all eager
To do the things you do
And a little boy who's dreaming
Of the day he'll be like you.

You're the little fellows idol
You're the wisest of the wise
In his little mind about you no
suspicions ever rise;
He believes in you devoutly, and
holds all that you do
He will say and do in your way
When he's grown up like you

There's a wide eyed little fellow
Who believes you're always right
And his ears are always open
And he watches day and night
You are setting an example
Every day in all you do
For the little boy who's waiting
To be grown up like you.

Why Do Mom's Cry?

"Why are you crying?" he asked his mom. "Beacuse I'm a mother"she told him. "I don't understand", he said. his mom just hugged him and said " You never will". Later the little boy asked his father why mom seemed to cry for no reason. "All mothers cry for no reason" was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why mother's cry. So, he finally put a call into God and when God got on the phone the man said "God, why do mothers cry so easily?" God said "You see son, when I made mothers, they had to be special. I made their shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort. I gave them an inner strength to endure child birth and the rejection that many times comes from their children. I gave them a hardiness that allows them to keep going when everyone else gives up, and to take care of their families through sickness and fatigue without complaining. I gave them the sensitivity to love their children under all circumstances, even when their child has hurt them very badly. This same sensitivity helps them to make a child's boo-boo feel better and helps them share a teenager's anxieties and fears. I gave them a tear to shed, it's their's exclusively to use whenever it is needed. It's their only weakness. It is a tear for mankind."

Here is one my son made in kindergarten:

SOMETIMES YOU GET DISCOURAGED
BECAUSE I AM SO SMALL
AND ALWAYS LEAVE MY FINGER PRINTS
ON FURNITURE AND WALLS
BUT EVERYDAY I'M GROWING UP
AND SOON I'LL BE SO TALL!
THAT ALL THOSE LITTLE HAND PRINTS
WILL BE HARD TO RECALL:
SO HERE'S A SPECIAL HAND
JUST SO THAT YOU CAN SAY
THIS IS HOW MY FINGERS LOOKED
WHEN I PLACED THEM HERE TODAY.

I love this poam, and seen it used alot. I havn't heard of yours and love it also! Thank you

The leader of my son's playgroup last year made a laminated print with our children's handrpints on it for Mother's Day with the poem:

You wash my prints from the wall, for I am not always careful when I play. But here is a print you'll want to keep. It's made for you this special day.
It has the date and I keep it up on my kitchen cupboards.
