I'll make the assumption that your talking about IE 7 that comes as the browser for VISTA.

On the left side of your browser at the top there is a Star and a PLUS sign--the plus sign lets you add your favorite web sites--the Star shows you your favorites list.

Excuse me FAVOURITES list.

click on the yellow and green stars on the left hand side of your tool bar. Next to the yellow stat that you click on for favourites.

If you have a copy of your favorites from XP, you can just delete the Vista favorites folder and replace it with the XP copy. Put it in the same place you deleted the Vista favorites from.

its not vista, its internet explorer that you do it in ;)

when your on the page you want to favorate,

where the tab bars are, to the left of them you will see two stars one with a + sign on it, click that and your away :)

I don't have Windows Vista, but I hope I can help you anyway.

I'm going to guess that you can still press Ctrl and D at the same time to add a favorite to the list.
