So tonight my church is having a New Years Eve thing, and am one of the singers. I love to sing, and am quiet good, so everyone tells me. But everytime I am stage by myself, my knees shake, and so does my voice. Tonight is a big deal for me, and we are expecting well over 100 ppl. Can someone plz tell me something that actually works so that I may bless someone with my song??
Thanks so Much

I would say, just focus on the back wall and try to think its just you in the room, try to think confident know you can do it and you'll sound amazing. Try to really get into the song, and from then it will most likely be fine.

Looking at objects, picturing the crowd naked and stuff does not work. The only way to overcome stagefright is to sing live more. You kind of have to push yourself out of the habit. I have really bad stagefright too, but I want to be a singer and it takes trial and error once you give the worst performance you can give. It gets better it is all a confidence issue you have with your voice. Go for it, if you fail do better next time.

You need something that is liquid ( probably condemned by the church). One shot of this would take away your stage fright and relax you enough to get through your solo. I think God would forgive you
if you didn't make it a habit.

Oh man, I wish it was me. I'd sing for you. I thrive on performance. I used to get nervous before I would sing. Then it switched. Now I'm nervous afterward. I'm not sure how I did that besides that I became confident. I love to sing. Sometimes I would pretend I was alone practicing in my bedroom or front room. That probably helped the most. Sometimes too I focus more on getting my message across and not the fact that I will be singing in front of people. Besides, sounds like you have received quite a few compliments on your voice, I doubt tonight will be any different. What is the worst that could happen? Your voice crack? Forget the words? What scares you the most? Think about how you will handle this. ie. If you forget the words to the 2nd verse, resing the first one. No one will probably know but a few and they will probably be people performing with you who have the same fears as you so they will be understanding. Good luck, don't psych yourself out, I'll be wishing I were you.

If you love singing, sing. You'll be fine. there's nothing wrong with being nervous. Keep breathing and show the world what you are singing about. You want everyone to enjoy it right? Also, remember this audience is going to be on your side. Their love will help you through.

Smile alot and look confident. alot of times you get nervous just because you are afraid of dissapointing your audience. Just think they are here to see you and how no matter what you do people are going to congratulate you no matter what you do. Just relax and have fun!
