Any legal advice you get from YA is going to be at best questionable. Go talk to the Chaplin at the base you are posted at, Good Luck and I hope you can work things out.

As a military dependent with a military ID card, you are entitled to the services of a Legal Assistance attorney on base. Where else can you get FREE legal help?

They cannot prepare divorce papers for you, but they can explain your rights to you, and tell you what you could expect from a local civilian court if you decide to go through with a divorce. They can also recommend a local attorney for you.

Go to the base nearest you -- doesn't matter if it's the same branch of service. You need to know what your rights are, and what to expect.

Then you can decide whether you want to give him another chance. No one can decide that but you. Unfortunately, if he's cheating on you now, chances are good he'll do it again, especially if he's deployed where the chances of getting caught are much less. Sad to say, but it happens all the time.

How much longer till he gets home? Can you stand being "in limbo" for that long? Go and talk to the chaplain to help sort out how you feel, and what you want to do. But you have to make the ultimate decision about what is best for your life.

Best of luck to you.

You cannot get a divorce through the military, but YOU CAN get a legal separation agreement, which your civilian lawyer will honor and use to file a petition for divorce. Stop by your nearest JAG office ASAP to get advice before you are hung out to dry!

I must say I agree with MRSJVD... Jag can explain what legal rights you have , but will refer you off base to someone.
I suggest keep any and all proof you have of him cheating any emails, if he has admitted to having a sexual relationship with someone while married to you for your Lawyer IF you decide to divorce him, I am not a 27D but I have had 2 really close friends go through this I am sorry this has happen to you, but now is the time to get strong and figure out if you want to fight for your marriage and let him go.
No matter what the choice is yours.
Good Luck to you!!!
Again I am sorry

you must consult a CIVILIAN attorney. Military Legal cannot and will not get involved with a civil matter such as divorce.
