I have put it back on, but is there anything else I can do?

That happened to me while on vacation. I did get through to the dentist's office and was instructed to purchase Fixodent and put the cap back on. What you have done is good. I can't think of anything else you can or should do, just leave a message for the dentist if you can and make an appointment to see him as soon as possible.

Take care!

Get some DenTemp from the pharmacy~ it's a temporary cement manufactured for this purpose...do not use Superglue, or any other kind of 'real' glue.

Fixodent isn't a bad idea, but it's thick...and if you use toothpaste on a 'live' tooth, it'll burn.

Good luck to you~

Toothpaste (paste) in a pinch. Temporary dental cement with a mild anesthetic can be purchased in most grocery stores and pharmacies. Be careful on that tooth. Avoid hot liquids for a few hours after cementing. Good luck. Get it checked when your DDS can see you.

It depends,if your tooth had a RCT(Root Canal Therapy),then dont worry,it's not a big deal just take care of it cause it's more prone tobe broken without its crown. But if your tooth is still alive(didn't have a RCT) then its an emergency and you just can't wait for 3 days.Go to the nearest dentist available, untill then DO NOT eat or drink anything too hot or cold.

NO NOT USE SUPER GLUE.

A dentist friend of mine said that has happened and he said that glue is toxic and gets into your system and it's hard to remove the teeth if it catches good.

Call and if any other dentist is available Most of them are wonderful about helping each others patients.

Go get some temporary glue from the pharmacy. It's usually near the oragel and stuff like that. It holds fairly well, so you'll be able to make it until you go to the dentist.
