The Bible didn't say, thou shall not kill unless a politicia tells you it's okay nor does it say it's okay to murder a murderer because he murdered somebody first.

I am a Christian and I agree that this war and or any other war should not be going on. We should not tolerate it, but lets be honest, Bush is not a God fearing man and I cannot recall the last true Christian that we have elected President. I feel that war not only sends the wrong message to children (violence), its not only un-Christian like (murder), its also a huge contradiction to our constitution (so should all soldiers be doing life sentences?) As a society it is hard to agree on these issues, but as a Christian I am whole-heartily against war!

The bible says:
"Then Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword."
That's why true Christians do not participate in wars. Here's the principle
"However, I say to YOU: Continue to love YOUR enemies and to pray for those persecuting YOU;  that YOU may prove yourselves sons of YOUR Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous.
Good question!

Read the Book of Leviticus. It talks about lot of different types of punishments, including death, for lesser crimes than murder. There are some literalists who believe word for word, so its not hard to imagine people who adhere to whatever tenets that they wish to follow. Watch the film Seargent York. In that film, York was a paficist who didnt want to go to fight and kill and he was going to be prosecuted for it. He talked it over with his preacher and was convinced that it was OK. Remember to render unto Ceasor, just be careful you dont forget to render unto God as well.

They get around it by ignoring the Original Kingdom Gospel that Jesus taught... and replacing the Sermon on the Mount with Paul's sacrifice for sins gospel.

This online source will explain all the trickery.

The existence of war, and the lives that are lost therein, are well-documented in the Bible. Little attempt is made to justify it---it just seems to exist as a part of the human experience.

the death penalty is also well-established in the Bible, and is called for in the disposition of many laws in the Christian Bible and Jewish Torah, including adultery. And murder, too, of course.

some claim that they are obeying the laws of the land...those laws which the established government imposed.
you can't really find any logical justification for that. We live by laws of common society. In America, not every politician is the same religion, so we come up with laws that don't always follow christian guidelines....to conform to the laws of our society means you will not always conform to the laws of christ.

In fact, the Bible says "thou shalt not kill." But it qualifies that by indicating who should be put to death for which crimes.

Now that Christ has died for my sins, I will not participate in wars.

As far as the justice system, I will not participate in that either, as it is corrupted beyond correction in this society.

I can't speak for others... but I don't justify it. I think it's wrong. The bible does say "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth"
