Similary who should people consult for an explanation on the origions of the Universe - science or theology?

If you pick the former over the latter in the first question, how can u rationally justify choosing the latter over the former in the second question?

1) psychiatrist, but that may be a case of the lesser of two evils, depending on the capabilities and ethics of the psychiatrist consulted. Consultation doesn't necessarily lead to compliance in either case.

Reading the theories of an opportunistic science fiction author may prove to have less side effects than a wrong diagnosis and / or chemical dependency; however, if one is sucked into further con$ultation that can be even worse. It is easier to flush pills down the toilet than scam artists and fanatics, who may clog the plumbing.

2) depends upon how one hopes and chooses to define and examine "origin" and "universe."
Why not consult both; many answers are not mutually exclusive, and exploring through one set of lenses often leads to unexpected insights through the other. Isaac Newton comes to mind.

That depends on the illness. Or more importantly, whether or not either one offers a cure or just a "treatment to make you fit in better" (psychiatry has a habit of the second one) And Scientology doesnt really offer anything in the way of an origin answer (unless you watch the cartoons about them).

But I guess I see your point. Im not sure it holds up though. A persona should be able to choose a scientific answer to some problems and a theological one for others. Sometimes an answer of faith has more power than a scientific one (you know, what the scientists call a placebo cure)

Psychiatrists, no question. Trained professionals, not circus clowns from Scientology world.

Scientologists are freaks and it's a load of bollocks.

As for your second question mate, the answer is 42.
